Pulmonary function tests
Spirometry is the most common of the Pulmonary function tests (PFTs). It measures lung function, specifically the amount (volume) and/or speed (flow) of air that can be inhaled and exhaled. Spirometry is widely used test, which can help diagnose conditions that affect your lung function, most commonly chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and asthma. Spirometry is also used to monitor the severity of some other lung conditions and their response to treatment.
